The shortlist for the 2023 CAF Women's Awards has been released, with Nigeria dominating the list. Super Falcons' Asisat Oshoala, who plays for Barcelona Femeni, is on the verge of winning her sixth CAF Women's Player of the Year Award, having won the treble, including the Champions League with the Spanish giants. Other Nigerian nominees for the Player of the Year include Chiamaka Nnadozie, Christy Ucheibe, Osinachi Ohale, Toni Payne, and Uchenna Kanu. Nnadozie has also been nominated for the Women's Goalkeeper of the Year prize, while Wandy Waldrum has been nominated in the Coach of the Year category. The Super Falcons are also in contention for the Team of the Year Prize. The awards ceremony will take place in Marrakech, Morocco on December 11, 2023.
